About 20 people showed up to help the local Great Grey Owls to get rid of the potentially lethal barbed wire, that actually killed one of the Owls last spring.
After 5 hours work including a coffebreak, all of it was taken down and brought to the roadsides, where the landowner will collect it. The major land owner Sveaskog (state owned forestcompany) has not only agreed to stop all plans of logging activities in the area, but will also establish a conservation plan, that will include managing the meadows.
During the work two of the Owls where sitting out in broad daylight, like if they where inspecting our work. One of them even tried a camera as a viewpoint for a while. Incredible!
