Lapland Fritillary (Euphydryas iduna) above. It´s not without a sigh of relief and happiness we (or in fact Janis van Heyking) stumble upon this gorgeuos little creature on the way back down from Boarrasacohkka in the afternoon. Perhaps not the most rare Butterfly of Abisko, but certainly one of the most charismatic and beautiful.
